I don't understand the idea of architectural /interior designer for this hotel property. The TV was hung on the wall next to bathroom rather than in front of beds. I want to ask the interior designer how to see the TV when guests sit in sofa or in beds? Air-conditioner is much too loud. More ridiculous, even I turned off the air-conditioner, the ventilation system still operated and created huge noise. Finally I found the electric brake on the wall and then turned off the two electric brakes. The architectural designer of this hotel was completely unreasonable and unqualified.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. Unfortunately, I am not able to speak to the designer of the hotel. I will however share your comments with ownership to be considered when the hotel undergoes its next renovation. I have shared your comments regarding the HVAC with our maintenance person so that we can address that concern. Thank you again, and please travel safe.

How can a brand new hotel have such paper thin walls?? The walls were so thin that we could hear the guy next to us when he sneezed and clearly make out all his phone conversations. Unfortunately, we could also hear his TV all. night. long. When we called the front desk, they said they'd send someone up, but they only called. Thirty minutes later when the TV was still blaring at 1:30 am, we called back and they told us they had called the room, but no one had answered, so there must not be anyone in there. For the love. We asked to be moved to another room the next night, which they accommodated. However, since there were only 10 cars in the parking lot for a hotel with 4 floors, why were they putting people right next to each other in the first place? Our new room was the same status but much bigger, leading us to wonder why we hadn't gotten that room to begin with since we're Platinum members. The rooms are nice and well-appointed with small kitchenettes - two stove burners, microwave and medium-sized fridge along with silverware, pots, pans, and dishes. The bathrooms have good quality shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel in the shower (no mini bottles), but the entire bathroom only had one hook and a tiny sink vanity - seemed like a really poor use of space. On the bright side, each bedside had ample plugs and USB ports. We tried the free breakfast our last morning and what we had was good - muffins, fruit, hard boiled eggs, turkey sausage. There was also a waffle maker and oatmeal. The gym looked really nice and spacious with a lot of cardio and weight machines (and free weights). Overall, we wished we'd just stayed at the Courtyard Marriott that we've always stayed at. If it ain't broke, don't fix it... unless what's broken are paper thin walls.…

Dear SmellieSmurf Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We do apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations, but I was happy to see that the staff did everything possible to accommodate you and to address the situation appropriately. You nicely pointed out the features of our hotel and why we are best designed for guest staying multiple nights. I hope you enjoyed the Container Store ELFA closets. Did you know that they could be customized to fit your specific storage needs. With this warm weather, we have had quite a few guests utilizing both our firepit and the Webber grills located by our front entrance. We do encourage people to find the Marriott brand that best meets their needs and expectations. For instance, I love our complimentary breakfast, but some people prefer ordering from a menu in the Courtyard Bistro. Theyrefused to issue me even a partial refund even though I contacted more than 2 wks. in advance. I as suppose to be a Marriott Club member. I hate to see how they treat someone who isn't in the club

Dear Sadalia S, I was so sorry to see your review. We pride ourselves on doing everything we can to assist our guests. I was surprised to hear of your cancellation issue. Marriott's standard cancellation policy is 48 hours before the day of arrival, unless there is a special event or some such Item. We have not had any special event dates since we opened earlier this year. With that in mind, there are only two possible scenarios that I can think of where we would deny a refund so far in advance. The first is if you choose to book an ADVANCE PURCHASE rate. These rates offer great discounts, but they are a no change no cancellation, billed within 24 hours of booking rate. The websites even require you to check off a box that says, I understand that this will be billed to me immediately and that I will not be allowed to change or cancel without full penalty. The other situation I can think of is when you book through sites other than marriott.com. Anytime you book through a site, you are subject to their rules and regulations, not ours. I apologize for your frustration, if your experience was for anything other than the two scenarios above, please contact me at the hotel directly to see what we can do to assist you. Travel Safe... Perfect hotel for our weekend getaway. Brand new. Loved the spacious room, shampoo, conditioner and body wash in shower. Comfortable bed. Salt water outdoor pool. Very friendly staff. Several restaurants, cinema and shopping within a mile. Everything you need.

Brand new hotel! The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful Offering advice on nearby local eateries. Although the hotel appears to be in the middle of nowhere it’s actually less than a mile from every restaurant or retail store you could hope for. I will definitely be staying here on all future trips to Owensboro.
