I lost my job because the cook can't cook . I had a mw steak cooked rare. Complained and then recooked it as rare. Then was told by the female cook. " Give him his money back and tell him to f off." I then left. The owner who wasn't there then rang my boss and lied and said I was abusive and was removed from the hotel and then was abusive at the roadhouse. His lies caused me to lose my job because his female cook can't cook and was abusive to me. They even arranged a local person to say this was done in front of people sitting at the bar. The problem with that was there was no one at the bar. Just a couple eating dinner and another single guy waiting for dinner. No one was at the bar. So a whole bunch of lies told and I lose my job as the cook cannot cook a steak properly.
We stayed here on our return trip from Esperance. Unfortunately like most hotels in the country the rooms are dated and in need of a urgent upgrade. A bit expensive at $160 a night for what you get but overall reasonably clean and comfortable. Closer to $100 would be more realistic. It is a pity the owners don't spend a night in the room to see what the guest has to put up with. We had the Steak special at the Hotel which was average. Overall average and not a place i would recommend unless you are desperate.
Big servings of pub food for dinner. Popular with the locals who were friendly - always a good sign. Staff were friendly and service was good. Facilities were clean and welcoming. We didn't stay in the accommodation.
A spur of the moment work decision and I ended up in Kondinin, at the Kondinin Hotel Motel. I arrived late at night and was the first time I had actually stopped in Kondinin. The owners and operators of this establishment offer second to none of service and warm welcoming including sensational large and mouthwatering country meals. Margie and Darren go out of their way to ensure you feel welcomed and informed when you stay or visit the Hotel. Recommend it as a great place to visit when travelling this part of the wheatbelt in WA.
We were staying just round the corner from here at a very nice B&B but they didn't offer evening meals. We didn't fancy another picnic in our room so we took their suggestion to eat here. We certainly were glad to do so. Make no mistake - this is an honest few frills pub. It's Kondinin's "Local". It serves folk from the small town and folk staying in the neighbouring motel as well as B&B'ers like us. There's a pool table in the Public Bar; most meals are taken in the Lounge. The menu was pretty extensive, and clearly there was someone in the kitchen who knew their trade. The food was very decent indeed, portions were huge, and the price was very acceptable. As British visitors passing through, whose main aim in the area was Wave Rock, we also like, where possible, to experience a wider range of things. This was one of 3 or 4 places on our holiday where we were truly able to enjoy being in a no nonsense Ozzie pub and we embraced it. We spoke to 2 or 3 of the locals and all were friendly and helpful. Bar staff likewise. Just a related tip. If you've done similar research to us, you'll know that the B&B here is highly regarded and only 30 minutes or so from Wave Rock, but please don't think Wave Rock is the only interesting rock feature in the area. If you have time, head towards Narembeen and explore Hidden Hollow. TA doesn't have a listing for it, and that gives you an idea of how most folk pass it by. We had it to ourselves. It was really interesting.…
