Hi, did you have to book or can you just turn up. And is it walkable from Faliraki centre or do you need transport?
Hello. Today 18/10/17 last day of the season 2017. The observation today will happend from the garden for free without ticket. Take a taxi is better. We close at 22:30
Hello!
In answer to your questions, it is walkable, however it's not well signposted, so my husband used the gps on his phone to find it, depending on which hotel you are staying in, it maybe worth getting a taxi.
We didn't book, just turned up, i don't think you need to book though, as there were others who just turned up as well.
Hope this helps and enjoy your holiday.
Hello,
you can just turn up and enjoy.
From Faliraki center use a taxi or rent a car.
Regards
You can just turn up but it can be busy.
Booking is not required,
Regarding walking - don't know, we used a car
We were there in July and there could be a wait of an hour or so a busy night but you’re waiting sipping a drink, sitting with a pleasant view or walking trough the astronomy garden.
Quite a walk uphill from Faliraki, would say 15-20min. Drive if you can.
We didn’t book and had no problems and it didn’t seem like anyone else had booked either, though it was quite busy! There is a steep hill which an able bodied adult could probably walk without too much issue from the centre of Faliraki, but we went on a quad though as there is parking on site.
Hello, you can just arrive without booking.
However I wouldn't recommend walking as is a fair walk from the centre and the hill is very steep.
We went up on a quad, there is parking available if you have hired a car. But would definitely recommend a taxi instead of walking.
You can just turn up no problem! It would be a long walk from the centre - just get a taxi it’s cheap enough and quick.
Can any tell me how to get back to Faliraki from here? Will the resturant be able to order a taxi for those walked or taxi up? Thanks in advance.
You don’t need to book in advance. It’s a cafe with some light meals (sandwich, salads, that type of stuff) and you can buy tickets to see the telescope and the planets. We came early to make sure we could get tickets and there were no problems. Transport is best by taxi, or scooter... we took a bus and had to walk for about half an hour from the bus stop.
Just turned up, you don’t need to book. I drove from Rhodes town so not sure on the falaraki town bit but I wouldn’t walk up the hill getting there so maybe a taxi?
It is walkable but is quite a steep road up to it. No need to book. Entry to the garden is paid for by buying a drink. If you then want to go into the observatory ( you don’t have to) there is a fee of about €4 each. That viewing lasts approximately 30/45 minutes.
