My name is Larry Farmer and in the summer of 1973 I was hired as a waiter by Miss Dallsell. John was the head waiter, Pete his assistant and his girlfriend Rose was a waitress. I am from Texas. I am an author now and have just finished a novel about my experiences in the Lake District from back then. It is a romance novel. It is set in Bowness but I reference the Langdale Chase in memory of my days there. I am hoping you allow me to name your hotel in the story. I can send you a copy if you like. It may get contracted by the Wild Rose Press in New York, where I have two novels already published. You can check the Wild Rose Press, and me under authors. I would need to know if you allow me to reference you in my novel soon. If it does get contracted in December, shortly after that I can't make anymore changes and if I haven't heard from you I will have to take your name out and use a fictional one. I hope for good PR for you and want no gratuity in return for my reference of you and am willing to sign an agreement that I get none. I so loved my days there and am so happy to have a novel about my experiences there. Thank you. Hope you're still thriving and wish you the best. You were wonderful to me.
Email and phone dude. haha.
Did you not think to e-mail the hotel directly rather than send a message via a third party website?
Also, for the sake of factual accuracy in your novel, there's no such thing as "Lake Windermere", it's simply Windermere.
I have known this hotel for many many years. There have been minor changes around the conservatory and bar etc. but all in all it has been a stable hub of warm hospitality. I have had New Year there, odd nights and tried various rooms. The lounge is magnificent as is the fireplace. Do upgrade with care, I'm a true fan!
I still see no answer to my request to reference your hotel in my novel. I had to take out your hotel name and would have loved to PR it for you. In my novel I said very good things about you and vaguely described your location on Lake Windermere. People may figure it out or not. My novel did get contracted and is due out on the market thru the Wild Rose Press from Adams New York USA. It will have an outlet to purchase direct or thru Amazon-UK. The setting is Bowness Lake District England in 1973 and in Manchester England in 1981. The title of my novel is Seeing Gail Again, published by TWRP, written by Larry Farmer
