Been to The Wiltern through a few different variations even when it was a more traditional theater however now the chairs are stripped away from the main floor - instead being able to jam in more people for standing room only. That said, the security team does an effective job keeping the walking lanes free and clear (stand behind the white lines). Otherwise lots of random people just congregate next to or on you. Servers walk up and down the aisles and are pretty quick - wait until later in the show to order and you'll have an easier time. I suggest standing in front of any of the mid rails that separate the tiers as it gives you both fresh air and best sight lines. Sound system here is always outstanding and the flow of people works well except if they keep the front doors closed for re-entry. Then all the smokers or anyone wanting fresh air are pushed out to the same confined walled area in the back of the lobby. Don't count on any fresh air in that area due to all the smoke. Drink service and pricing is normal for LA. The bartenders are fast and push 'discounted' double shots ('just $6 extra'). Worth seeing a concert here for both the experience and quality.

We paid extra for center floor seats to a movie event. When we arrived, we found our seats were stackable chairs that had been zip tied to each other. No armrests, and way too cramped to ever be comfortable.
The cheaper seats in the balcony on the other hand, were comfortable permanent theater seats with armrests.
Forgetting the fact that The Wiltern is in the middle of the ghetto, with homeless tweakers all over the place, if we ever come back here, it’ll be the cheap seats

What was supposed to be an amazing birthday experience turned out to so traumatizing that solidified us NEVER seeing anyone in LA ever again. Loved Polyphia, loved the old-timey venue, and most of the employees are great..but security was atrocious, in particular only one.
My boyfriend and I had our concert experience RUINED by a short bald dude with a black goatee and mustache, likely on steroids because he was so bulky and aggressive. He singled out my boyfriend for 'blocking the handicap row' when he had already been okayed by multiple other security guards before him and we were the first ones to get there as we made a point to get the front row due to me being short. So as the concert is starting many more people start to flood behind my bf and I that were ACTUALLY blocking the entire walkway and he got lumped in with them for some reason even though he was clearly in the roped section. He comes up in the most aggressive way; putting his hands on him and shoving him asking 'are you dumb buddy, can you not f-ing read? You need to leave.' My boyfriend has a panic stress disorder that raises his BP, he just lost his father a few days before, AND it was my birthday, so this concert was supposed to be a way to escape all of that. But instead he's getting harassed and shoved and singled out for no reason by a power tripping security and I didn't even realize at first cause he was only talking to him and not me even though I was right next to him. This man literally ruined our entire experience and we had to leave to help my boyfriend calm down and take some deep breaths outside (they don't let you re-enter after you leave).
If that wasn't enough, there were some crowd surfers and the SAME security guard pins the guys arms behind his back guiding him out and then shoves him up the stairs almost causing the man to trip, which solidified his over-aggressive nature.
If I were management, I would seriously do something about this man before he harasses more people; he is unhinged and that was absolutely not necessary. Not other security guards would have to put their hands on people. Like I said, we'll never come back because of this. You can look at the other reviews; it’s blatantly clear that some fundamental staff training needs to happen. There’s absolutely NO reason for ANYONE to touch a paying customer here to have fun, spending $100+ a ticket to be there, only to get shoved and harassed.

I hate to do this. I’m not one to trash a place. I’ll never come here again. I go to concerts more then frequently, multiple times a week if I can. Ive never experienced such a stuck up absolutely rude over the top false sense of authoritative staff in my life. I hope someone from the wiltern reads this and takes serious action. I don’t want a venue with a big black X across it in my mind, that’s where the wiltern sits. I frequently catch the OrangeCounty and LA dates for bands I’m a fan of, I will sadly SKIP any LA date that’s stopping at the wiltern and just take my money to Anaheim in effort to save myself from ALL GOOD CONCERT VIBES being completely shattered by staff that take their jobs ENTIRELY to seriously. You’d think you’re in a hospital rather than a concert venue the way these people act. I tried being polite and asking for assistance and I was met with nothing short of animosity from not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 let’s be honest here I lost count, this is the first time I’ve left my favorite activity (shows) absolutely disappointed frustrated and feeling wronged. Congratulations Staff at The Wiltern, I’d like to remind you all that you work at a concert venue where people go to have fun, not a penitentiary. June 22, 2023 I would truly question the entire self righteous staff that worked this evening. I was not sure if I was just looking at the situation wrong or taking this personal until I talked to about 5 different people in the merch line that all unprompted mirrored the same sentiment. Just sad. Like I said, I’ll never come here again. I suggest you don’t unless you want to see how stripped down, bland and confrontational a concert can be.

The Wiltern, located in Korea Town in Mid City, Los Angeles, is one of the best places to see a concert. It is not huge and you will be able to see no matter where you are.
The sound system is great. You can hear well, but you are not going to lose your hearing--not to say it is not loud and kids should have ear protection if they are going to a rock concert anywhere. You can actually hear the words of the singer while they are talking and the sound does not have so much bass you just want to die.
We have never seen a bad show there. They have a lot of up and coming artists you want to see before they end up at the So-Fi Stadium which is just a horror show.
They have great drinks and snacks. The place is kept super clean as are the bathrooms and of course, there are never enough for women.
The Wiltern is a beautiful art deco building and the inside matches it. It is just beautiful, with murals and decorated ceiling that you will love. It it at least 50 years old, but it is so well maintained that you would think it was new.
Most of the seating on the first floor, "the floor", is standing room only. Now they do put seats on the floor depending on the artist. We just saw Crowded House there and there was seating on the floor. Last week we saw The Interrupters and it was standing only. You will know when you go to buy tickets.
The Wiltern also has a beautiful Mezzanine and balcony and the seats are comfortable. This area is all seated. The only issue is there is no elevator and they can't put one in because it is an Historic Building, so you will be walking the stairs. I have done that many a time. As the years went on I got ill and could no longer do the stairs. They do have limited disabled seats on the floor, but there are not a lot, and they make sure no one takes advantage of this.
We have seen at least 40 concerts there, the last one being just a week ago. It is always great. It is always fun and there are places to eat nearby. Parking is in a lot behind them on Western.
What we like the best about the Wiltern is the staff. They are amazing. They are patient and kind. They all have been trained and some have worked there for a few years. There is a man that is head of something, I don't know what, but he seems to be in charge and he is just the best. Any questions you have and he is always there right when you enter. The staff that gets you to your seat or on the floor is wonderful and are all the people that serve drinks and food. It is the best service you will ever have at a concert venue.
Finally, they do have a VIP section for a fee, which is on the floor with seats and tables. I am not sure how much it costs, but the view is great to the stage. Have the best time.

Very nice venue, comfortable seats. If you are tall, it might be a little less comfortable in the seats in the Mezzanine. There are bars everywhere for your convenience.

the Wiltern is one of my favorite venues in LA (inside that is). Parking is fairly easy, lots of opportunities to wine and dine before a show.

Great small venue with amazing 1930’s classic architecture! See big and small stars in a fairly intimate venue. Lots of bar and bathroom options!

Beautiful old theater. Saw Anjelah Johnson here and the seating was great. It’s a smaller venue so even though we were towards the back, hearing her and seeing her was not a problem. She was very funny! Drinks in the lobby before the show had a pretty long line. Parking for the special event was $30 in lot next door.

First, the place is commonly referred to as The Wiltern. The building itself is said to be one of the finest examples of Art Deco building design in the USA. Statuesque in blue, it is such a landmark that there is a metro station that seems to have been dedicated to it (to be fair, this is an intersection of two busy streets, Wilshire and Western).
The lobby actually took my breath away. It’s hard to describe, with several tiers of uniquely beautiful design elements around an open centre. Deco flower and leaf adorned ceilings circling one level give way to an opalescent ceiling high above, and the chandelier that drops from it.
The theater itself has an awesome Art Deco ceiling feature, a sun with beams radiating out like slender skyscrapers of an age when nothing seemed impossible. The lovely soft colours from the lobby are brought into the larger space, as the ceiling is dappled with shimmering stars.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The seat numbers are a little strange, with odd numbers on one side and evens on the other, but this is obviously something the staff expects and they jump in. There was some kind of hiccup with the door, as tickets said 7:00pm and the Wiltern opens one hour before showtime, yet ticket holders waited for an hour in blistering heat before being let in. Apparently, the doors never open before 7, so the tickets were incorrect. It made for some unhappy a-ha fans.

How many people can fit or are allowed in the orchestra pit for general admission standing tickets? I'd like to know if I truly need to get in line early to secure a good spot if the number is minimal.

The pic gets packed. If you want to be up front you must get there at least two hours before doors. We are at least 500 people or more are in the pet. The majority of the Fonda is standing room only.

I can't find pictures of the VIP tables w/ service. The lady on the phone said they are right up front, but the pit is right up front. This is part of a VIP package that includes the parking and underground lounge, but is also reserved table seating by the stage, she said. Anyone know anything about it? I can't find photos anywhere that show it.

Table seating is located in the orchestra floor towards the rear area of the theatre. Tabled seating is at an upward slope in order to give those in the rear a better view.

Depends on how many bands are playing. Usually the headliner won't come on before 9pm. The Box Office can answer each show's specific time estimates. Most accurate info is Box Office night of show.

Did the VIP lounge and parking. It gave you underground parking directly under the theatre so you entered on the bottom floor. They did make us feel special by offering us champagne in the garage as we entered the lounge where light appetizers were served along with a cash bar. We were able to enter the theatre first without waiting in line. I would do this again.
