Good bike and well maintained. Speaks good english and reliable delivery and pick up. Charges around 30 euro for delivery and pick up.

good route and good bike

Ruth prepared a bike route for a solo trip through Umbria. It was a good route, mostly on roads with very little traffic. The cue sheet was accurate. Ruth also sent me the route in a digital format that I could use on Bikemap. The Bikemap app wasn't great, but having the digital route allowed me to confirm I was on the route, which was exceptionally helpful when I took a detour so my distance was mo longer synced to the cue sheet. The bike was well suited for the terrain, and relatively light. All the equipment worked well. I was very satisfied. Thanks Ruth!

Extraordinary personalized service

Unlike most folks who use Randotrek, we are not huge bikers. We wanted a relatively easy four-day trip with our teenage daughters, to get a really good look at the countryside and local culture. Ruth's easiest trip -- through beautiful sections of Lazio -- was physically challenging for us, mostly because of those Italian hills. But it was a fantastic experience, thanks largely to Ruth's good nature and careful planning. We met her in Orvieto, then biked to Bolsena, Tuscania, San Martino al Cimino, and Mugnano in Teverina, where Ruth met us right on schedule at Palazzo Orsini, a fantastic Renaissance palace with three B&B rooms. Ruth's laminated daily map and instructions were crystal clear. Her accommodation and restaurant recommendations were excellent. And most importantly, she was sensitive to our interests, which did not include conquering the toughest hills and racking up kilometers. We have not traveled with Backroads and similar outfits on larger bike tours with lag vehicles. That would be fun, of course. But we would pick Randotrek every time because of the independence and adventure that Ruth's self-guided bike tours make possible.

I'm very happy you enjoyed the trip although a little challenging for you specialy on day 3. Central Italy is hilly but it rewards you with great views and countryside. A big thanks and hope to see you on your next Italian vacation. Best Ruth.

Brilliant service; just what we were looking for.

I wanted a road bike for two weeks. From the first speculative email right through to the end of our holiday Randotrek have been great.
Ruth has provided excellent service by email, and the bike was delivered to our door exactly as promised. Prior to the holiday I was sent suggested routes to cycle.
It was a well maintained Bianchi with all I needed to ride independently each day. Water bottle, tube, levers, multi tool, pump all provided. Always a little nervous when I hire a bike about the wear and tear already on a bike when you receive it; no need to worry with Randotrek.
I brought my own peddles, and the bike was set up for my comfort before they left.
Previously in Italy I have had to collect hire bikes; the delivery service made things so much easier.
The best recommendation I can make is that if I am back in the area, Randotrek will be the first contact I make.

Biking in Umbria - self guided

Biking in Umbria with Randotrek bikes and "support" was great! Ruth was super knowledgeable and friendly. Her "hands-on" approach was professional and much appreciated. She provided us with current information on restaurants and villas in the towns we visited and suggested stops along our tour. The bikes provided by Randotrek were excellent (new condition) and we were very happy with our experience. i would not hesitate to use Randotrek again or recommend them to friends.

Bike rental and tours in Tuscany

In September 2015, Randotrek delivered four road bikes directly to our rental villa in San Casciano and also arranged for an excellent guided tour customized for our group. Our guide, Dario, was well-informed, very pleasant and made sure the pace was perfect for our group. We enjoyed cycling on day trips from our villa for a week and then Randotrek picked up the bikes before our return. So glad we could cycle in the beautiful hills and towns of Southern Tuscany - and Randotrek wonderfully helped make it happen!

Highly recommended for bike touring in Umbria!

My wife and I just returned from an 8- day self-guided bike tour of Umbria: Orvieto-Spoleto-Montefalco-Todi-Orvieto. We used the Bencini family of Randotrek (Ruth, Gianni, Alessandro) to rent bikes and other equipment and received A+ service. The bikes were delivered personally to our hotel inOrvieto when we arrived, and were good road bikes that were well-maintained. We were fitted by Gianni, who returned later to install a good bike rack on our rental car. We were given good route suggestions, and if we'd asked for a broader range of service, I expect it would have been excellent. The bikes were picked up at our hotel on return and Gianni delivered us to the Orvieto train station without any charges. A great family run company!

bike ride

In June our party of 4 enjoyed a wonderful day's bike tour through Randotrek. We were driven to our starting point at Lake Bolsena and met our guide Dario. We rode from one lovely city to another around a portion of the lake at a pace that was comfortable for all our riders. The scenery was spectacular as the lake and old towns are beautiful. Dario was very knowledgeable and shared information about the area as we biked. Arrangements were easily made and we would recommend Randotrek for bikers of all levels.

This bike squad could not have been better. They came with a mechanic (Johnny) through the pedestrian area to hand deliver our 2 bikes and rack to our hotel in Orvietto. The bikes were high quality road bikes that we took to the Pienza Area ourselves for a day. On the next day we were taken on a guided bike tour by Dario and Loreno.. it was a tough climbing day through scenic hill country.. well worth the effort - the gelato stop was near the end - whew!

Second time hiring bikes with Randotrek

We have just completed our second tour on the via Francigena, this time from Rome to Monopoli, last year we cycled from Pisa to Rome.
Both times we have hired KTM bikes from Randotrek as they are good solid bikes and perfect for this track.
And each time Randotrek have been able to both deliver and arrange pickup of the bikes to match our plans.
For this reason i cannot recommend Randotrek enough, and as an addded bonus Ruth has been very helpful in pointing out good attractions or foods that we shouldnt miss while on our trips.
I would happily recommend Randotrek to anyone looking to hire trekking bikes within Italy.
