Amazing private experience
We had an amazing private tour with Panos at Knossos and the museum of Heraklion . We contacted Panos for our family tour of Knossos and the museum. They also handled our transportation arrangements from our accommodation to the palace and back . Panos was on time, great knowledge of both sites and also provided additional material after the tour to consider … we had a great experience and it’s highly recommended

Panos is AMAZING! Incredibly knowledgable guide with top notch hospitality. His local relationships helped us have incredible experiences wine-tasting, olive oil-tasting and lunch during our visit. If you are visiting Crete, booking a tour with VisitKnossos is an absolute must!

Family enjoyed the professional guide for Knossos Palace and the museum

Our family paid for Panos as our professional guide for the day at both the Knossos palace and the impressive archealogical museum. He was really knowledgable, interesting, engaging and fun to spend the day with. Our son is into Greek mythology, so we decided we must spend a day with a guide and we are so glad we did. We recommend seeing both the palace and the museum with a professional guide if it is within your family's budget.

Book Tourist Guides Crete for a mesmerizing experience

Knossos came alive thanks to our professional archaeologist guide— Dimitra— from Tourist Guides Crete. Dimitra was passionate about the Minoans, incisive, insightful, witty, and expert. Her encyclopedic knowledge of telling details enriched our experience to the point that we now speak of our time in Crete as BK and AK: before Knossos and after Knossos. Panos, who organized the tour, was responsive to our original request, quick to respond on email, and full of helpful advice since we also wanted to combine a trip to Knossos with a guided tour of the Archaeological Museum. After touring Knossos, we followed Dimitra in our rental car, parked in a location we would never have found on our own, and followed her into the Minoan portion of the museum, where she guided us through the extraordinary collection. Dimitra encouraged our curiosity and helped us to understand context and cultural contributions. We saw the Minoans through her eyes and ours were opened to their engineering brilliance, respect for nature, and sophisticated artistry. We highly recommend Tourist Guides Crete if you want to learn as well as just see.

a stimulating intellectual experience!

An intelligent guide does not focus on describing what you see, instead they can analyze the meaning of what are in front you in the context of human history. Panos is such a great guide. He does not talk about Knossos as an isolated and regional remains; he was able to present minoan civilization in comparison to its neighboring civilizations and connect its signaficance to the past and future. Panos is superb!

The tour guide is a walking museum

The tour guide Dimitra is hand down a fantastic expert on minoan civilization. Panos, who organized the tour for my group of six, told me they call her the Walking Museum. They were right. Dimitra was funny, respectful and captivating in her discussion of this very special goddess culture. She led us through the Knossos ruins and showed us through the Heraklion Museum. We were enthralled the entire day.

Excellent Guide for Knossos

Joanne was a personable and informative guide for the palace. She made life at the palace come alive with people who lived there so the site was more to us than just stones. She answered the questions of everyone in the group in a knowledgeable way.

Superior Tour with Panos Kritikos

Our experience with Panos Kritikos was excellent from the first email communication through tour end. He is extremely well prepared complete with visuals aids as we went along. His depth of knowledge is impressive during the tour and then he promptly followed up with loads of follow up information for us to read post vacation. Do not tour without Panos!
