Our trip with Blue Water Sailing was an absolute once in a lifetime experience! Radu and Adriana are absolutely amazing hosts and they both went well above and beyond to make our engagement trip special. From the beginning Adriana had excellent communication and well prepared us for the trip way in advance. We knew exactly what to expect and what to bring. The sailboat was amazing and very comfortable. Both Radu and Adriana are very skilled, gracious and thoroughly fun to be with! In fact, we consider them our friends after the trip. They were interested in the experience that we wanted and involved us in every step of the route planning. We will always have beautiful and priceless memories of the trip. I would absolutely and whole-heartedly recommend to sail with them. You won’t regret it! We can’t wait to sail with them again soon!!

Our party of five (all 60+) just completed the trip of a lifetime with Captain Rita. From initial planning with Adrianna to tying up at the dock with Rita at the end of week, everything was top notch.
Adrianna is incredibly responsive and provided comprehensive information to help with the planning and organization of the trip. She and Radu were at the dock when we arrived back in Paros and it was great to be able to thank her in person for all she did to help make the trip a success.
The boat (Albatross) is extremely well maintained and was very comfortable for the 5 of us. She sails beautifully in just about all wind speeds (and we had it all, from less than 5-10 knots to over 25 knots during the week)
We spent two nights on the anchor and the remaining five nights at the dock in each port. Our itinerary was: Folegandros, Ios, Schinoussa, Almogros, Naxos, Syros, and back to Paros. This was mainly based on the winds that week which blew from the south during the early part of the week then switched to northerly. Rita mixed in opportunities to take a midday break for a swim on several occasions, so we saw more islands that way as well. There were markets at nearly every stop which made provisioning the boat for breakfasts and lunch really easy. We ate dinner on shore each night. Also, there were bank-owned ATM’s on most islands so getting cash was a breeze.
Okay, now to the best part: Rita! She is a BOSS! First, she’s a deeply experienced sailor and has sailed the Cyclades for years and knows the waters like the back of her hand. Her recommendations about our route ended up being spot on. Her passion for sailing and her dedication to making our experience the best possible was amazing.
Next, she knows the history and archeology of the islands and relayed a ton of information which made the trip more interesting. She also has a great list of her favorite restaurants at every island, and again, her recommendations were spot on! Highlights: Katogi on Ios, Deli on Schinoussa and Capetan Dimas on Almorgros (where we had the best Moussaka ever).
Rita is energetic, and has a great sense of humor. Other charter companies often have captains that simply drive the boat. Rita on the other hand was engaged with us and made the week way more fun.
Then there are the islands themselves - a wonder. Thanks to Rita, we got to see and do things that we never would have found on our own.
So, our thanks to Rita and Adrianna for making a lifetime dream vacation come to life!

We had a great experience with Radu and Adriana on the Freedom. Even during our research and planning months before the prompt and details of communication were spot on. They were willing to work with our plans and flexible where they could and plenty options if not. By the time we got to the boat, everything was clear and set so it was short briefing and we were off to enjoy the beautiful waters and the quiet little islands around. Radu and Adriana had great knowledge of the area and had good recommendations at start of every day and it was just down to us to enjoy everything the area had to offer. We didn't need much but the boat was clean and well equipped with toilet and showers for each cabin. For 6 of us it was plenty of room to eat and drink and hang out during travel between the islands. Very much recommended.

We spent 4 nights on board with Adriana and Radu on the Freedom.
They provided meticulous detail and information about getting ready for the trip and what to expect in the lead up. Their suggestions for our sailing route exceeded all of our expectations and more !!
We had an excellent holiday where we felt extremely relaxed with nothing to worry about. We were taken to locations we otherwise would not have known or picked, and there was always something unique and enjoyable at each spot.
We just had to explore on land when we docked and get our bellies filled with the local specialties, they took care of everything else.
The boat was fabulous, and we felt very at home. Their attention to detail was great !
Double thumbs up !

We had a great time on Albatross with Captain Rita. The boat was extremely clean and well maintained. If you can sail with Rita you will have a exceptional time. Probably would not recommend this company unless you have Captain Rita, she is what took an 8 to a 10+ experience.

We had an incredible time sailing with Rita onboard the Albatross. Adriana was wonderful to work with as well. We felt very well prepared to undertake our adventure. I really appreciated the flexibility we had to plan a trip that made the most for us: lots of snorkeling, sailing time, and time to explore the islands.

We spontaneously booked the trip with Adriana and Radu on the Freedom. From the first contact with Adriana, we felt very well informed, looked after and safe. Adriana was particularly helpful in planning the trip with her experience and professional manner and made it easy for us to get an idea of the cruise, as it was our first time on a sailing boat. The tour itself was incredible and we experienced magical moments. Adriana and Radu, as experienced sailors, sailed us safely around the Cycladic islands and were also able to give us helpful recommendations for the time on land. We particularly liked Adriana and Radu's spontaneous, uncomplicated manner. The sailing boat was very well maintained, which underlined their passion for what they do. The two of them responded to our individual wishes and needs and gave us a unique experience. We would like to thank Adriana and Radu again and recommend them to everyone!

We spent a week onboard the Albatross with Captain Rita in August 2024. Everything was wonderful and it was a trip of a lifetime for me, my husband, and our three teenage kids. The boat was beautiful, comfortable, and well cared for. Rita is a total professional, an expert sailer, and an exceptional person. She went out of her way to ensure we were able to get everything out of the trip that we had hoped for. Huge thanks to Blue Water Sailing for such a memorable and enjoyable family vacation.

Our week onboard Albatross with Rita was a once in a lifetime experience. I only hesitate in saying that as I want to do it all again some day soon!
I travelled with my 12yo daughter. We visited beautiful locations through the Cyclades, guided by Rita’s suggestions. Amorgos and Folegandros were our favorites but we really enjoyed every anchorage and they all offered something different. The snorkelling was amazing! And swimming off the boat meant we didn’t notice the July heat at all.
Rita is a very experienced and safe skipper and she was kind enough to let me help a bit and learn! She loves to sail and was happy to put the sails up at any chance which was just what we wanted and we clocked up a good number of miles under sail.
Albatross is a beautiful boat, we were very comfortable, she sails really well in all winds and in particular handled some heavier winds with ease. Rita knows and loves Albatross very well and they are like an extension of each other; each caring for the other and providing a wonderful sailing experience.
Thank you Adriana and Rita for exceeding all our expectations. We can’t wait to do it again one day.

Our family of six, two adults and four kids (11,13, 15 & 19) were lucky enough to spend a week on Albatross in June 2024. Having never lived on a sailboat before, we weren’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of the best vacations we’ve taken as a family.
Our Captain, Captain Rita, became our Cyclades Sherpa as well as teacher. Our kids wanted to learn about sailing and she was excited to show them few things on Albatross and make them her honorary “crew”. They learned to help with the ropes, fenders and the anchor. Captain Rita gave them each assignments when we were ready to sail or go into port, and they all loved it.
Albatross itself had plenty of room for all six of us. We were surprised that we had room to store our small suit cases and back packs. The living area is bigger than it looks.
Captain Rita talked with us before we left port to discuss our goals for the week. We decided that we wanted to go to the smaller islands and stay away from the more crowded islands. This was by far, the best decision we made. We started in Paros, and visited Schoinousa, Amorgos, Koufonisi, Naxos, Delos/Rhenia and Syros.
Our typical day on the boat: we would get up and go for a morning swim, have coffee either on the boat or in the town where we were docked or anchored. If we had coffee on the boat, we would enjoy the morning calm on deck or watch the kids go for a morning swim. We’d then discuss with Captain Rita our plan for the day based on the winds and weather. We’d then set sail towards our next island destination, usually stopping at a swim spot along the way. In the afternoon we’d arrive at the next island and swim, explore the sights on the island and have dinner. If we were anchored in the bay, Captain Rita would take us to town with the dingy. The food on all the islands we visited was amazing and we’d usually find a place for dessert as well. Definitely try fava! When we would get back to Albatross after dinner, everyone would usually go for a night swim and we’d have another drink on deck before heading to bed. It was a great pattern for our days, with a different island each day, each with its own personality and sites to see.
Most of the islands we visited are only accessible by ferry or boat, not major ports for cruise lines. We were able to get a real taste of authentic Greek island life, food and people on these islands. It was wonderful.
Throughout the week, we were able to jump off cliffs, swim or paddle board into beautiful caves, jump into the devils eye, visit archeological sites and picnic by windmills at sunset. One night we were the only visitors in a small town and it felt like we were being welcomed into a family or community. The local kids were all out playing by the bay til late at night while families enjoyed food and drink. Our kids loved it!
Captain Rita was amazing with recommendations on what to do at each island and where to go eat. She gave us insight and a little history about the islands we visited that made the visit more personal.
While on Albatross, we swam a lot! We used the paddle boards and snorkel gear every day - we petty much lived in our bathing suits.
Most nights we would have dinner on the island, but one night we cooked on Albatross, it was so relaxing!
There were plenty of small grocery stores where we could reload on water bottles and other supplies as needed, we were always in good shape with food and snacks.
Our kids loved the sailing part as well! They especially liked hanging out at the front of Albatross while we were sailing, getting splashed as we moved through the water. Twice, we saw dolphins as we sailed, they jumped in and out of the water close to the boat.
Only once during the trip did one of my kids feel a little sea sick while sailing, but it subsided when she put the pressure point wrist bands on. Besides that, even at night when it was very windy and the boat was rocking a little, none of us felt sea sick at all. We would also note that all of us have fairly good mobility and this helped with moving around Albatross as we sailed and getting in and out of the dingy.
If you decided to sail, I would recommend that you stay overnight in Paros Port the night before you sail. Then you can meet Captain Rita early the next days. We stored some of our luggage at the hotel in Paros, The Kontes. It was so easy and convenient. We also stayed the night in Paros Port the day we got off the boat. It was really nice not to have to rush off the boat to travel. We explored Paros and had a relaxed dinner, it was a great way to end the week. The kids love Captain Rita and they wanted one last picture with her the next morning before we left Paros - she was so good with our family!
Thank you Adrianna and Radu for sharing Albatross with us for the week! Our kids loved every minute of this vacation, they loved Captain Rita and they loved Albatross!

We are just starting to plan a trip to Greece in late April, early to mid May. We are considering a week of sailing as part of this trip. At this point we are only 1 couple but would invite another couple to join us if we did this. My main reason for writing at this point is to check your availability, likely early to mid May. Thanks, Kate

Dear Kate,

What is it like in October for sailing?
Γράφτηκε στις 18 Αυγούστου 2018

October usually has pleasant weather with temperatures around 21-25 degrees Celsius (70-77 Fahrenheit) during the day. Perfect for exploring the islands, enjoying their archaeological sites/ walking the pretty harbor towns as well as swimming/snorkeling.
The sea temperature is usually around 22-23 Celsius ( 71-73 Fahrenheit just like in June) .
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
