We have just returned from a wonderful weekend, experiencing the Kent countryside, in most possibly the best way ever.
My husband hired the morris minor convertible for me as a gift and what can we say.
From the moment of booking, all the way through to the end of the experience, the service was absolutely fantastic. Warm and friendly.
The car, was beautiful. A real head turner. We had numerous people stop and admire the car and talk to us about it.
We were given a fantastic route to follow, directions very clear and providing us with some wonderful places to stop on the way.
An absolutely wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back to try out some of the other cars available.

A great experience! We have a great time when I hired the Caterham 7 for my mum's 60th birthday! We hired the car for the day and when we picked it up we had all details about the car clearly explained. The paperwork beforehand and on the day was simple to do and Paul was very helpful solving an insurance question for me. Payment and deposit were easy and the deposit was refunded at the end of the day. The car was beautiful, well maintained and a pleasure to drive. I would highly recommend Paul and Danewest Automotive. I've got my eye on the next car to hire!

I called Danewest at 2pm on a Saturday to request a 48hr hire of their Caterham, they were able to accommodate my request and by 5pm, I had picked up the car! Very friendly and no-nonsense business. I would recommend the experience to anyone looking outside of the normal channels.

I would not recommend hiring a car with this company.
We rented a Caterham 7, for half a day. Upon returning there was a small protruding bump of the back bumper – which we are not even sure on how this happened.
During the hiring process Paul the owner suggested minor damages to the car body would be covered. Although he retained the £100 deposit to repair the dent we did not realise was even there!
There was also an inverted dent which was there prior to the car hire. The car was already damaged in that area before our hire.
Paul suggested that the repair for this could cost in the region of £60-70, and the remaining amount from the £100 would be reimbursed.
The repair came to exactly £100. A coincidence that this was the exact amount that was withheld.
The mechanic confirmed dents were removed from the back panel, which also included the pre-existing damage that was nothing to do with us and these were included in the price! We have no idea the breakdown of costs as the mechanic refused to give this to us, so effectively we paid for pre-existing damage, which should not have been pushed onto us.
I feel this is an untrustworthy company, I would not hire again from here and would definitely not recommend others to hire from here.

We are very sad you feel that way. We did a handover of the car with you in which we walk around and note anything on the car with you before you leave. If there was any pre existing damage you would have been able to see it and note it down. When we realised how much luggage you wanted to take we did suggest that we swap you to a bigger car but you did not want to. The damage was clearly caused by a wine bottle being pushed into the side of the bodywork. We retained £100 of deposit but the repair was £120 as it was £100 plus vat so we are out of pocket by £20 which we did not ask you for. There was another issue from before in another place on the car that was repaired at the same time but we paid separately for that.
We very rarely retain any part of a deposit, yours was the third in three years so we do really only resort to this when the case is clear cut. We present the cars in immaculate order and for that reason they have to come back without damage.

Had a really great day. Started off in the Austin 7 then went out in the Morris 1000. The children and the grandchildren loved it all and said it. was the best day ever! Thanks to Paul and Angela for all their help making it a perfect day.

From the first point of contact Paul was nothing but helpful and the friendly greeting and cheerful and relaxed introduction to the car set the day off well. What's so nice is that whilst the Stag that we had is a great example and well looked after you don't feel like you're not able to enjoy the drive. Paul positively encourages you to experience the fun that a car like this can bring, and we did.

I offered the trip with the MG Midget to my girlfriend as a birthday present.
Being from the other side of the Channel, we had some adaptation problems the first 15 minutes, but that worked out perfectly.
We had a whole day of fun. Used the itinerary as proposed by Paul and visited some interesting places in the Kent countryside, such as the Churchill House.

I bought my husband a day in an Austin 7 voucher as a Christmas present as he had spent such a long time wanting to drive one!
We arrived just after 9 and Paul and Angela were ready with the Austin 7, Annie. We had a quick test drive to check that we were both happy with the quirks of the vehicle and Paul was very patient with me in particular (as I have never driven a classic car before and I didn’t want to do anything wrong!)
What a great day we then had driving through the beautiful Kent countryside. I would recommend this to anyone who fancies a slightly different day out!

Absolutely brilliant service from Paul an his team.
I hired an Austin 7 and a Triumph Stag from them for my Dads 80th birthday. Paul was happy to do a half day hire for both cars which was superb. From my first contact with Paul through to the final handover the whole experience was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for him. Both cars were very well presented giving my father a great trip down memory which he shared with me as an additional driver.
Thanks to Paul at Danewest for such a great day.
