Absolute Must for a Trip to Lefkada

Hiring the boat was the highlight of our holiday, 100%.

This review would have been 5 stars were it not for the fact that when we enquired about the boat we were not made aware fuel was extra. I don't have an issue with paying for fuel but would have like to have been told from the start.

In addition, the fuel gauge on our boat was "iffy" as pointed out on departure and upon return we were charged for more than we used in my opinion.

However, there were a lot of people around and the family that run the business are friendly so it wasn't worth causing a scene, other customers just need to be mindful.

Great experience (but be careful)

We had a great day out, having rented a small boat for four people and told of a route around the nearby coastline and islands. However, our boat started having issues shortly after the start of our return to Sivota and we had to use the fuel reserve. Soon later our reserve fuel ran out and we found ourselves adrift for a second time. Luckily a fishing boat stopped to help and we called the rental company to rescue us. They arrived quickly with additional fuel and took us back to Sivota. We were charged more than 60 euros for fuel. While we have no issue with the charge we do think we should have been warned of how far we could get on a tank of fuel, as the outcome could have been quite different had the weather not been so good (or if another boat had not come to help). We pointed this out to the boss on our return to Sivota but he came quite confrontational (our point was only that they would be better warning people, rather than overselling the capabilities of the boats, risking customers safety, and then having to come rescue them). They claimed we should have hired a bigger boat (so why rent us the one we did) and claimed it was because of where two of us sat on the boat (despite then not telling us this when following us back to Sivota). Bottom line is it got us half as far as we were lead to believe and that could be dangerous. Overall a good day out but be careful - make sure you have enough fuel (don’t be oversold how far you can get).

Wir haben uns in der Off-Season spontan entschieden in Sivota ein Boot anzumieten.
Hierbei kann man schon bei, beginnend, 70€ dabei sein.

Ab 09:00 bis ca 18:00 kann man das Abenteuer Boot fahren genießen.

Man bekommt vor Abfahrt eine kurze, aber wichtige, Einweisung wie das Boot zu fahren/ bedienen ist.
Natürlich braucht man die nicht, wenn man entsprechende Führerscheine/Lizenzen bereits besitzt.
In unserem Fall haben wir ein 30 PS starkes Boot bekommen ohne etwaige Vorkenntnisse.

Dazu gab es eine App und eine Empfehlung welche Orte zB Höhlen man unbedingt besichtigen sollte und natürlich welche Areale verboten sind.

Wir konnten somit sehr viel sehen, was sonst verborgen geblieben wäre.
Es war ein wahnsinnig schöner Tag.

Der Punkt Abzug ist für die fehlende Tankanzeige. Es wäre für Laien wirklich hilfreich wenn diese oder ähnliches (z.B. Alarm) verbaut werden würde.

Ansonsten war es schönes und empfehlenswertes Erlebnis.

We went to Sivota with friends to go fishing. The boats which were offered for rent were excellent. The water was perfect and we had a wonderful experience.

Boat tips are very interesting and not too expensive. Glass bottom taxi boat costs 10 euros per person anf after touring the nearby islands and one cave drops you off on blue lagune and they give you an umbrella. They circle around every hour and you can choose when to move on diaporo island. Both beaches are great
The trip to paxos and antipaxos with a big boat costs 30-40 euros and is a must

Best way to get away.

The boat hire was effortless and well designed organised. The service is friendly and helpful. What you are really paying for is the freedom and the islands. Best way to get space. Pick up some baguettes from the bakery as lunch before you start!

Really lovely new boats. Everything is very well explained by the owners. Where to go, where is safe and where to avoid. We took a picnic and anchored in a bay for lunch and a swim but there are lots of places to moor up and have lunch. A must do if you are in beautiful Sivota. Make sure you book a few days ahead as the bigger boats get booked quickly and they will cancel if the weather is looking bad.

What a great experience to explore Lefkada from the sea.
We spent a lovely afternoon on the boat and it was fun to just stop wherever you want to. This is how you can explore hidden spots on your on and spent quiet & relaxed time in clear blue water.

We had no experience with boats before but instructions were helpful and easy to follow. You will get used to driving boats quickly! And the area is not difficult.
Also the boat was in an excellent condition.

Even for two people the medium size boat (70€) is recommendable as there are areas for lying down.

Advice: Start your day early. There were no 4-hour-offers available and every hour is worth to be spent on the sea!

Had a brilliant day out . Cost just over 100 quid for a family of four but what a day. Island hopping. Snorkelling in quiet bays. You are you own skipper so go whete you please. Very easy and safe enough gor a first time boater. Tje boats are well eqipped with life jackets and a second engine if needed. Tge vest way to explore meganisi and scorpio. Recommend
