We did a wonderful hike this summer organized by DISA travel. Everything was very well organized, Dirk and Sabine make a great team. They speak perfect English.
We've known the island well for a long time, but DISA has introduced us to new places.
They offered us several tours around the island, we chose a route in the mountains not far from the Gulf of Kalloni.
The hike was really interesting and surprising. We discovered a secret gorge where we were even able to bathe in very soft water. Before that we visited the entrance to an old magnesite mine and found a very old chapel in the middle of the forest.
We did the whole hike with Sabine who knows the island very well and is a very nice person. Hiking with her is really interesting.
After a few hours of hiking, Dirk was waiting for us on the road to bring us to a lonely tavern on the edge of the gulf. A magical place, with fish and fresh products from local fishermen and farmers.
We highly recommend you to contact DISA Travel as soon as you arrive on the island for an unforgettable tour.

Sabine hat unsere Interessen sehr gut berücksichtigt, wir habe viele Tiere (wie Wildpferde) gesehen. Ein besonderes Highlight war auch der Besuch einer Hotelruine. Wir werden bei unserem nächsten Urlaub wieder eine Tour buchen.

We booked a day tour with DiSa-Travel after seeing the good reviews on TripAdvisor
The service we received from start to finish was to the very highest standard and would highly recommend DiSa-Travel.
We booked the beautiful south private tour for 2 persons, Sabina our tour guide and driver for the day turn up on time explained the route, and the places that we would visit and she is flexible on the route if you want to make slight changes.
We drove right to the top of Mount Olympus and the views are stunning from there we went to a lovely little mountain village for traditional Greek coffee and cake and to visit the local church which is stunning inside its a must to see.
We must say the highlight of the day for both of us, we went for a meal in someone's house, there is no menu you have what they are cooking on that day, we had a variety for fish and veg approximately 10 dishes plus a beer, because they are not a restaurant they can not charge you, you leave what you think the meal is worth, Sabina recommend between 10 and 15 euro per person, we left 20 euro person because it was well worth it .
From there you drive through the chestnut forest, again you get stunning views of parts of the island on the way back to Skalla Kallions where we were staying Sabina drove us around the salt plains where you can see a verity of birds which was very good.
A some of the driving is off-road, so you will see a lot of the island that you otherwise would not see if you drive yourself, there are no road signs off-road it was down to the knowledge and experience of Sabina, and may we say, Sabina is a very good driver on the road and excellent driver off-road, your in safe hands.
We have been to Lesvos many times and have done all the tourist trips with the main holiday companies that go to Lesvos and in our eyes, DiSa Travel tours are far superior.
We would like to say Sabina is very professional very knowledgeable about the tour that we did, but most of all a very friendly person.
We both had an excellent day really enjoyed it, and when we come back to Lesvos in the future we will have no hesitation in booking tours with Sabina (DiSa - Travel)

Sabine organized an excellent tour which took us to monasteries, the salt flats with wondeful birds as well as several stops for good food.
I was impressed by how flexible Sabine is and with her knowledge of the island

Vi kørte rundt på noget af øen med Dirk i hans Landrover og så mange interessante steder, Dirk ved meget om øen og om grækerne. Vi stoppede i den skønneste bugt for at bade og spise frokost i en skøn taverna. Det var en skøn dag og vi kan virkelig anbefale DISa travel.

We spent a whole day going to various sites, some of it off-road, and some of it on a road, but hard to find. Sabina was an excellent guide and pleasant company for the trip to the religious and historical sites that we were interested in seeing, and she built in fun at a nice hot spring and dip in the Gulf of Gera. At each place, she knew great places to eat, drink, and shop, all supporting the local economy. There is a lot to do on Lesvos and Sabina was terrific about customizing the tour to get a lot out of our time. She also provided a lot of great info about things we could do on our own. We're hoping to hire her in the future for a hike, if we get to Lesvos when orchids and other flowers are in blossom.

We rang Di-Sa when another option for exploring Lesvos fell through and asked if we could tour the next day! Not a problem for Sabina. We gave an outline of what we thought we would like, she sent us options and a general outline and we agreed. The day was amazing, lots of information about the island, places to visit to show us life on the island. When she discovered I liked archaelogy and food all the stops came out and we saw some amazing things and ate delicious, local food. Really recommend this company. And a very good price.

We spent a wonderful day with Sabine exploring the gorgeous landscapes and special places in northeast and east Lesvos. We saw the tiny Agios Alexandros in its peaceful and beautiful setting; the site of the last battle on Lesvos between the Greeks and the Ottomans, hard to get to and now deserted, but very atmospheric; a 3rd c AD basilica; wild horses on rock-strewn plains with the sea in the distance; a lovely forest path that led to a pond and waterfall; a beautiful arched bridge that connected north and south Lesvos in the 15th (?) century; a modern olive oil factory museum with the equipment that was used to press olives in the age of the steam engine. Sabine knows the backroads (and offroads) that enable you to travel to these places, hard to drive to and hard to find on your own, and she’s an excellent driver. We got a wonderful sense of the island’s past and its many contours, listened to birdsong and croaking frogs, and ended up at a local taverna by the sea with not a tourist in sight where we had a lovely late lunch. A highly recommended experience.

First visit to Lesvos which is a far cry from the average tourist-oriented island.
Contacted Sabine for suggestions on an all-day tour of Lesvos and our party of three was picked up by husband Dirk in their Land Rover.
Took in the Commander monastery, the Salt Pans and a Roman aqueduct, finished off by lunch in a taverna in a village. Dirk was brimming with knowledge and kept up a running commentary on all aspects of the island.
It was both informative and interesting to see some of the highlights of Lesvos and I’d certainly recommend Dirk and Sabine for the quality of their tour and wealth of knowledge.
