Tour in Olympia/Katakolon

Loved the tour of Olympia but the tour of the Honey Farm and winery were so much fun. Learned so much about the bees. We were joined by family members who owned the honey farm. So personalized. Our guide Yonnis was so helpful and knew those at the honey farm personally. He tried so hard to make sure we saw all the important sites. Had lunch at a restaurant right on the black beach. So much fun. Definitely a local experience. Would love to go back.

We had an amazing day with Giannis as we visited Katakalon on our cruise itinerary. He met us at the port and was instantly fun and personable! He took us to Olympia and the Archeological park which was great, but the real highlights were Klio’s Honey Farm and then a visit to the beach and a late lunch at the restaurant on the beach! It was truly such an enjoyable afternoon and we all laughed so much as he introduced us to the fine art of drinking ouzo! By the end of the day I felt like I had made a new best friend and I was inviting Giannis to visit us in the states! A true gentleman with so much enthusiasm for his country and his tour! I’d give him 10 stars if I could!

Amazing time and service

Giannis was so friendly and informative! Could not have ask for a more friendly guide. He took us at the right time to be ahead of the crowds and he also took us to Hilo's Honey Farm where we personally wish we could go back again. Then lunch at a Authenic Greek restaurant where he taught us the finer aspects of Ouzo!!
I think Giannis is the best tour leader and know anyone who books through Visit Katakalon will also have an amazing day!
PS..he also hooked us up with a great guide in Athens who also did not disappoint!

Ancient Olympia & area

Fabulous organised trip. Early pick up from cruise ship ensured arrival well ahead of the pack at the site of Ancient Olympia. Fab visit to local winery where we were so well looked after. Our driver knew so much of the history of the area and was enthusiastic in expressing it (despite him likely having done it hundreds of times before!). Thank you for a excellent organised tour.

Very accommodating and took care of our group of six

This tour was excellent! We had a group of six and were able to do quite a few things. I loved walking around the site of ancient Olympia and the winery tour. It was great learning the history of the area. It was nice to have a suggested itinerary of things to choose from depending on what our group liked - we didn’t do everything and some people split off to do different tours at the same time. It was great that the guide was so accommodating!

Great Private Shore Excursion to Olympia Area

Our family had a private tour with guide Kostas. Kostas was a true professional. I liked that he inquired of our needs and interests and then allowed us the flexibility to allocate our time accordingly. We were able to see modern Olympia, ancient Olympia, the museum, Klio's honey farm, and then have time for lunch back in Katakolon by the water. This was a day filled with great memories and experiences and we would not have accomplished as much without Kostas' expertise and personal attention. Highly recommend this tour.

Great Private Tour

Our family group of 6 (3 brothers and their wives) were met at the cruise ship by Kostas for a full day private tour. Two of us had mobility issues that prevented long or strenuous walks, and Kostas was very attentive to our needs. He took us to the ancient Olympia site and followed with ample time in the new town. This was followed by a relaxing and interesting time at Klio's honey farm, which was a nice addition. He made it clear that this was our tour and we could take as long as we wished at any site, and his patience, shared information, and great sense of humor made this day a very good experience. Lunch on the seashore was a treat, too! We highly recommend him and his tour company.

This tour taught us a lesson. From now on, we will be checking out private tours rather than ship tour packages. After having joined the ship tour groups in other cities, we experienced big crowds and numerous buses. We only booked this tour because the ship tour was sold out. Thank goodness. We exited the ship and our wonderful guide, Giannis, was waiting right there and led us to our private, absolutely beautiful tour bus where only our group of 9 was on. Giannis asked us many questions about what we were looking to see, how many could handle long walks and who couldn't and making sure he made our experience everything we could have hoped for. He watched out for the elderly in the group, stayed with us always and was super, super nice. We wanted to go to a Greek bakery and he made that happen in a small town with no tourists! He then took us to a restaurant right on the water where we picked our seafood right out of the ice chest. We also visited Kilo's bee farm and found ourselves surprised at how much we enjoyed that visit! We have many memories from our trip but the day in Katakolon was one of our highlights, especially due to Giannis and our wonderful bus driver. Thank you for treating us so good! Awesome Chauffeur and Excursion!

Our family groups of 4 did a day tour chauffeured by Andreas. He is a very kind, polite young man who drove us around Katakolon. We arrived by cruise ship and he was waiting for us on the pier. He drove us to the Olympic site and escorted us to the entrance and waited for us and then asked us what we would like to do next. We chose the Olympia Land winery which was delightful! Next we chose Klios Bee farm. Once again it was very nice and informative. Such sweet memorable people at both places. Finally we ended with a stop at a beautiful beach and restaurant. At each stop Andreas patiently waited for us. This was one of our favorite stops on the cruise due to the beauty of the area and this private tour with Andreas. I highly recommend using Visit Katakolon for your excursion instead of the ship’s excursion. You will have personal attention for your own group and choose what you would like to do. You will save money as well. Can’t do better than that! Thanks again Andreas!
