Best experience of local sights and culture in very short time period!

Nicolas provided absolutely the best experience for our short cruise stop in Katakolo, including sights (Olympia, Puglia & snorkeling at San Andreas Beach) & culture (delicious iced coffee that Nicolas treated us to & lunch at an authentic Greek family restaurant). He provided information & suggestions, a guide book for Olympia and bottled waters for us and even sent us off with handmade olive oil from his families own orchards. We are grateful that we found him on trip advisor, highly recommend him to anyone visiting the area & look forward to visiting Nicolas & Katakolo again soon!

Volendo raggiungere Olympia dal porto di Kyllini, Nicolas è stato molto gentile e disponibile per organizzare il viaggio con un minivan molto confortevole e un autista gentile e disponibile. È andato tutto benissimo. Servizio super affidabile!

World-class service from Nicholas

I'm over 55 now and travel several times a year so it isn't trivial when I say that Nicholas gave us one of the best experiences for the money we have ever received anywhere in the world. Our stops were geared exactly towards us. In addition to the obvious stop at Olympia, we wanted to experience things we could only see in Greece. We are from San Diego, don't drink wine and have visited olive oil farms in California so I told him "no beaches, no wine, no olive oil tour" - which is about all the cruise excursions offered - and we wanted to eat local food at a locals restaurant and shop for some uniquely Greek things.

Nicholas was just the perfect guy for this challenge. He was prompt, professional, friendly and has lived in the area his whole life. We were one of the first 50 people off the cruise ship that morning and he was there waiting. We are not "Mercedes" people but we found ourselves in the back of one about two minutes after walking off the ship - and we were literally the first people from our ship to arrive at Olympia, giving us the place to ourselves for about a half-hour. After that, he called ahead to every stop to make sure the place was open and to make sure we were expected and was always available to help translate when necessary.

He was so good to us, that I won't tell you all the nice things Nicholas did for us because I don't want you to be disappointed if he doesn't do that for you ! But he probably will.

If you are even remotely considering spending $50 or $100 per person for a cruise excursion in Katakolon, don't. Just, don't. Send Nicholas an email and book him for the day. You will do two or three times more stuff for the same money compared to a cruise excursion.

Usually guys with personality and drive like Nicholas are hustlers, trying to make a buck off every stop by taking a cut. But we only paid Nicholas for the time he spent at the price we agreed upon and it was pretty clear that he wasn't getting paid commission for bringing us to these places. Nicholas seems to earn his pay from the local establishments in goodwill rather than cash and it shows. This method has brought him long-term success - just look at the 5-star reviews here. Everyone deserved, I'm sure.

I only wish that Nicholas lived in a place we visit often. Just not sure if we will ever get back to Katakolon but if he ever visits San Diego, we would gladly drive him around in our Hyunday.

The best experience possible in Katakolo / Olimpia

This is the best experience possible without a doubt. I recomend to book a experience of a full day, Nicolas you drive you around the best parts and highlights of the town. Since I didn’t had much time to waste (I went to Katakolo in a cruise), this option was the best option to know a little bit of every experience. Another fact is that Nicolas is a very nice person and he takes a additional afford to make you have the best experience possible, he bought us coffe with his own personal money, he gave us a bottle of olive oil from his familly farm. Thanks Nicolas!

We came to Olympia and Katakolon on a cruise, and decided we wanted to do something on our own. Nicolas was the absolute best. He picked us up at the port and quickly drove us to Olympia, where we arrived before the big tour buses. We purchased our entrance tickets, and He gave us a book and we were able to do a self guided tour of the grounds and museum. Next we had some free moments to walk through Olympia. Next he gave us a guided tour of Pyrgos and enjoyed wonderful gyros and gelato. We wanted to go to a beach and he guided us to a locals beach where there wasn’t anyone. Finally we got an overlook of the port before returning to the shop. Overall Nicolas was the best and it was a perfect day. “Come as a visitor and leave as a friend.”

We had a truly wonderful day with Nicolas. He is kind, caring and very knowledgeable. Enjoy a stress free day or two. I truly believe that if you don’t want to be on a huge bus tour, you won’t find better than Nicolas.

THE BEST transportation in KATAKOLON/ OLYMPIA !

End of June 2022, We were 1 adult and 1 elderly with cane/ walking very limited, and Nicolas picked us up (in advance !) from the cruise ship port of KATAKOLON to crystal-clear Kourouta Beach , and we were in 25 minutes arrived at the restaurant he recommended (DESTINO) and we sat front row, with 2 drinks, 2 lounge chairs and 1 sun umbrella for a total of 10€excellent and kind service , very few vendors on the beach (1-2). Superb sea water , turquoise clear and warm, little mouvement, we were able to swim, relax and enjoy:))
Nicolas customized our stops, on our way back we bought some wine from a local winery and some delicious honey from a family run local shop in Katakolon (OKYBEEA), just before heading back to our ship. He was very friendly and gave us some historical/cultural explanations about the region, both interesting and entertaining, excellent driver and such a nice person, a highlight of our trip in Greece ! Thank you Nicolas, the best !! :))

Simply excellent. He’s a pleasant guy to talk to, easy to arrange with, good English skills - you wouldn’t want anything more.
As cruise travellers, we hit a local beach and he made sure we could find a sun umbrella upon arrival - and we did not even have to ask for it!

Niko was an amazing taxi driver he took us from katakolon to patra. We had a smooth journey with music, free wifi and air conditioning all the way. I would highly recommend booking a private tour with niko. Thank you so much.

The Best Day Imaginable!

We had great communication from Nicholas before our day here, and he hit it out of the park with his choices for us today. He met us at our cruise ship, and we got to the ancient Olympia site well before any cruise ship bus. His suggestions were all excellent, and we ended up enjoying the Olympic site, the 2 museums, 2 towns, one winery, a lunch restaurant with home-cooked food and a nearby beach where we swam. The last thing we did was to see the view overlooking the bay. We were so delighted with Nickolas, who speaks excellent English, loves his job and gave us the greatest day imaginable. He is a real- life hero in that he saved a tourist in a wheelchair from drowning and received an award from the Academy of Athens. Book him if you can! Nickolas, we fell in love with this area, we will be back!
